Here are some interesting poetry-related news items I've collected over the past few weeks:
- I did the 21-Day Meditation Challenge with Deepak Chopra and Oprah last month. Day 16 launched with a quote from Walt Whitman, "I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars." Day 16 was a meditation on living in nature.
- On March 19, the Comedy Central show Tosh.O did a spoof on an young girls homophobic rap. He called her piece Rhymes Against Nature and his rebuttal (very punny!), particularly the rhymes were hilarious. Warning: it's full of adult content. You can catch in on the YouTubes.
- The New York Times did a story about insomnia poems.
- For his birthday, The Huffington Post did a story listing Robert Frost's most inspiring quotes and last year they published photos of his Vermont home.
- The Washington Post reports that the body of Neruda is behing exhumed.

Pulitzer Remix
My friend and poet Ann Cefola has become involved with a very interesting poetry project this month through the group Pulitzer Remix (www.pulitzerremix.com). She is one of 85 poets who have been selected to create 30 found poems from any Pulitzer Prize winning novel, posting one a day through the month of April. NaPoWriMo
I've kept to the poem-a-day challenge. It hasn't been easy since a) I've been fighting an allergy-related illness and b) I'm also taking two classes this month.
